A month ago, I recorded a podcast for The Agile Wire with Jeff Maleski and Jeff Bubolz, both amazing Agilists in the Milwaukee/Madison area with an incredible podcast. We covered self-selection topics at a broad level: everything from what it is to planning a self-selection event to how to run a successful virtual event. I’ve done about a dozen events so far and Jeff B has too so there are a lot of tips and tricks from the trenches in this episode. I had so much fun chatting with these two and I hope you have a lot of fun listening to the podcast! Note that you can find this podcast wherever you listen to podcasts.
Slow Productivity by Cal Newport: Good Reminder, Not As Good as Deep Work
In Slow Productivity Newport says that our current definition of productivity is broken. Busyness has become a proxy for actual effort, and that history’s most creative and impactful people worked very differently than we do today. I buy into this premise completely. Newport is one of the clearest thinkers writing about work and attention right now, and I always appreciate his thoughts. Here’s a review about what I found valuable and perhaps not as valuable.
